Category Game Index

This index allows you to choose the specific way to play the category game.

The game presents you with a grid comprising four sets of words belonging to a category such as clothing or parts of a gun. Your task is to identify the words in each of the four categories.

You can play the game in two basic modes: Easier and Harder. In each case, you can decide whether the number of words in each word set is [4] or [3,4,5]. These permutations are explained in more detail below.

Easier Mode

In the Easier mode, the word sets you correctly identify remain highlighted. This means that the game gets progressively easier - because the number of words to choose from is reduced each time.

- Each set consists of 4 words
- The sets consist of 3, 4, or 5 words

Harder Mode

In the Harder mode, the words sets you correctly identify do not remain highlighted. This means that you have the same number of words to choose from each time.

- Each set consists of 4 words
- The sets consist of 3, 4, or 5 words

Note: Easier sets have more common categories and/or easier words. Harder sets have less common categories and/or harder words.

An example of an easier set is: clothing: 'shirt, hat, sock, jeans, coat'. An example of a harder set is: parts of a gun: 'barrel, trigger, sight, muzzle, magazine'.
