Positive statements

Note the -s in the 3rd person singular:
E.g. he eats, she works, my mother likes.
Negative statements

Note the doesn't in the 3rd person singular.
E.g. he doesn't eat, she doesn't work, my mother doesn't like.

Note the does in the 3rd person singular.
E.g. Does he eat?, does it snow?, does your mother like?
Irregular verb forms: Third person singular
Here are some common verbs that do not simply, in the third person singular, add an -s to the base form:
1. Verbs ending in -o, -ch , -sh , - ss : → add -es
- she goes
- it echoes
- she watches
- he brushes
- it kisses
2. Verbs ending: -consonant - y : → change -y to -ies
- she carries
- he tries
- she studies
Note: Verbs that end: -vowel-y do not change like this:
- she buys
- he says
- it plays
