Introduction to the writing activities
This page has information about the writing activities on this part of the site, as well as an index of those activities for easy access.
The activities were originally written for grade 6-7 ESL beginners at Frankfurt International School, based on ideas derived from the Milliken writing practice program available several decades ago on Apple II software.
They were conceived as extra activities for students to do if they had finished the main classroom tasks quickly. Or if they wanted to do extra work at home. They then compared their answers with other students. They asked for help only if they didn't understand the task or if they wanted to know if their answers were correct.
- Note 1: The activities were done on paper, not on the computer.
- Note 2: In general, the activities increase in difficulty. So, for example, Activity 5 is easier than Activity 32, which in turn is easier than Activity 68.
